Your Impact at Arrakis: 

The mission of Arrakis Therapeutics is to extend small molecule drug discovery into new realms of biology by discovering and developing compounds that selectively target RNA. By targeting specific RNA structure/function relationships, Arrakis will generate drug candidates with novel mechanisms of action for high‐value molecular targets that are challenging to address via traditional approaches in therapeutic indications with high unmet medical need. 

We are seeking a motivated senior research associate/associate scientist to support compound management efforts in our drug discovery group. The candidate will provide a critical role in supporting Arrakis drug discovery projects by delivering high quality samples for various assays. The candidate will also directly interact with our external collaborators to coordinate sample management logistics. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative, fast‐paced start‐up environment, leveraging a high degree of integrity, intelligence and innovation to make a large impact on our mission. 

Job Responsibilities:


  • Deliver high‐quality samples including assay ready plates to colleagues in assay group and external collaborators
  • Coordinate with external compound management collaborator for compound acquisition and shipment, sample request, and various special projects
  • Execute QC of solid and liquid samples using LCMC and/or NMR
  • Design automated processes using Echo system for the fulfillment of compound requests across all drug discovery projects
  • Be able to efficiently manage multiple tasks concurrently, and consistently deliver high‐quality results to meet project timeline
  • Routine use of an electronic laboratory notebook, and act in accordance with all Arrakis policies including laboratory safety policy



  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or a related field, with more than two years of relevant experience in compound management, and/or lab automation
  • Hands on experience with common laboratory operations and liquid handling equipment; experience with Echo system preferred
  • Experience measuring purity and identity of small molecules using LCMS and/or NMR preferred
  • Basic understanding of biochemical or cellular assay development and compound profiling assays
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to effectively manage shifting timelines and priorities
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and collaboration skills.
