Your Impact at Arrakis


The mission of Arrakis Therapeutics is to extend small molecule medicines into new realms of biology by discovering and developing compounds that selectively target RNA (“rSM”). By targeting distinct RNA structure/function relationships, Arrakis is generating drug candidates with novel mechanisms of action for molecular targets that are challenging to drug in disease areas with high unmet medical need.  


The Project Manager will make a large impact on Arrakis’ mission through their leadership of program(s) that are emerging from our platform.  This is an opportunity to translate the vision of our scientific programs into an actionable, operational plan. The scope of the role will include management of the development and execution of program plans, including timeline and budgets that align with corporate goals.  Deep expertise in program management practices, tools, and methodologies are key requirements for this role.  In addition, the ability to understand and drive drug discovery and development is critical to success in this position. The Project Manager will report to the Vice President, Business and Technical Operations and will work to establish a strong team environment that optimizes operational standards and cross-functional collaboration.

Job Responsibilities:


  • Work closely with the Vice President, Business and Technical Operations to develop, implement, and drive program plans within the defined timeline and budget 
  • Ensure alignment across all key stakeholders on the strategic path forward on assigned programs
  • Provide leadership across cross-functional teams to optimize team effectiveness
  • Implement program management best practices to establish and maintain the standard for operational excellence
  • Create a team environment where people are highly engaged and comfortably voicing their ideas & perspectives. Build strong relationships with team members to drive trust, respect, and excellent results.
  • Ensure program team activity is clearly communicated, documented, and archived
  • Support and/or drive alliance management initiatives
  • Manage and develop rapport across individual relationships and overall internal or external partnerships 
  • Support governance structure and operational standard procedures for joint committees, creating a framework in support of effective collaboration and decision-making
  • Adhere to and implement partnership contracts, defining and tracking progress through key performance indicators and internal and external milestones
  • Consistently display and drive behaviors consistent with Arrakis’ values




  • BS/BA in Life Sciences required; Advanced degree and/or PMP Certification preferred
  • 5+ years of multi-disciplinary experience in the life science industry
  • 2+ years of direct project/program management in drug discovery and development
  • Strong proficiency with program management practices, tools, and methodology
  • Working knowledge of best-practice alliance management principles
  • Working knowledge of overall drug development process and GCP/GMP guidelines
  • Financial acumen; capable of planning and oversight of project budgets and timelines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and team management skills
